She
began her public relations career working at Fortune 500 companies like Philip Morris, where she was responsible for developing
and implementing their cultural special events program and special projects for the international division. After her next
position as Assistant Director of Public Relations for the programming division of Cablevision, Geralyn's passion for
food and wine led her to the world of New York restaurants.
Eager to learn the industry "from the inside," she gained invaluable experience by working in such prestigious
New York City restaurants as Montrachet, Gotham Bar & Grill and One Fifth in front-of-the-house positions.
Before opening RESOURCES in 1993, Geralyn was the Director of Public Relations and Promotions for Restaurants Management,
the group of Italian restaurants owned and operated by well-known New York City restaurateur Pino Luongo.
Geralyn received a BA magna cum laude from Columbia University where she
majored in Comparative Literature. She has been interviewed about public relations by top industry publications, including
Food Arts and Nation’s Restaurant News, and contributed a chapter on “Building a Buzz When Launching
Restaurants” to a college text on marketing and pr. Her first book, The Summer House Cookbook, co-authored
with Chef Debra Ponzek, was published in the Spring of 2003 by Clarkson N. Potter Publishers.
